For years, I walked these beaches seeking reconnection, that changed when the marine pollution washing ashore became impossible to ignore. I couldn’t just keep walking past it! Toxic Tide became a way to transform that pollution into Transformative Art, turning sadness and frustration into a powerful mix of beauty, warning, and hope.
This Found Love Collection is the start of the Toxic Tide project. Fueled by Passion & Hope, it uses the heart shape to explore my passion, the fragility of the coastal ecosystem and the necessity of action. It ultimately celebrates the transformative power of finding beauty and purpose amidst the waste.
The Tide Witness collection is a space for the powerful, explicit stories behind the pollution. Through Dedicated Narratives, these pieces acknowledge specifics and are often created to honor the efforts that drive change. This series is a record to the artifacts of waste found across the Aotearoa coastline.
In this series, I invite a Coastal Focus, zooming in on the intricate details of collected Shoreline Fragments. Each piece is a deliberate study in texture and arrangement within the square format, highlighting the hidden structure and the quiet story of the small debris recovered from the coast.

That’s how I experience Toxic Tide, a process built from deception, pollution, and contradiction, yet revealing something deeply honest about who we are and what we leave behind.
